Anxiety Is Loud —Let’s Turn Down the Volume
Anxiety is treatable
Anxiety can show up as racing thoughts, constant worry, panic attacks, physical tension, or a relentless sense of dread—and it can take a serious toll on your daily life.
The good news is that anxiety is highly treatable. Effective treatment requires more than learning deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation.
We offer evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Meta-Cognitive Therapy (MCT) for Generalized Anxiety, Depression, mild OCD, and PTSD. Exposure Therapy is a form of CBT that helps you to help better understand your anxiety, build coping skills, and face fears with confidence. Whether your anxiety is generalized or tied to specific situations, we’ll work together to help you regain control and find lasting relief.
TREATMENT APPROACHES
We offer many different options rooted in evidence-based therapy.

CBT is an evidence-based treatment for many different psychological problems.
Dr. Roldan has been providing therapy using this approach to a number of different clinical concerns since she was in her doctorate program at Texas A&M University. She enjoys using this approach to treat depression, anxiety, PTSD, and panic attacks, as well as Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and other disorders.
-
Dr. Roldan attended a two-day training with Dr. Pia Calleson (Denmark), author of Live More, Think Less, on the usefulness of the Meta-Cognitive Therapy approach for depression, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, mild OCD, and PTSD. The research on this approach is compelling, and MCT is well-suited for individuals in which rumination is a primary issue. This approach is popular in Europe and is recently being disseminated in the United States. Visit the MCT Institute website and read about the founder, Dr. Wells who trained Dr. Pia Calleson.

Common questions about therapy for anxiety
-
Nearly every effective treatment for anxiety involves some level of exposure to the thing that is feared. Whether that’s being embarrassed in a social situation, fear of the consequences of a panic attack, fear of vomiting, etc., we have the skills to help you get your life back.
-
Panic attacks can feel terrifying for the suffering individual. The four most common fears from a panic attack are: dying, having a heart attack, going crazy, or losing control. How terrifying!
But guess what? Panic attacks are NOT actually dangerous.
Once you learn that to be the case, their power over you subsides, and they become much less frequent and much less intense.
Guess what the best way to learn that is? Through experiencing those body sensations and then realizing that none of those fears actually come true. It’s magical… well, actually, it’s science!
Let our calm and confidence in our skills help you get your life back from ongoing fears of panic attacks.

While it’s true that CBT doesn’t work for everyone, 100% of the time, it is highly effective for a variety of concerns. My first question would be to ask if your previous experience utilized a comprehensive CBT treatment, or if it just borrowed parts here and there.
Either way, our providers can learn what you’ve already tried and offer additional skills to help you move forward.
